10 AdWords Strategies For New-Start Ups

You have started a small-time business and need all auxiliary units to help you thrive. Online businesses seek recourse from affiliate marketing, back-links, video sharing, SEO and AdWords. You need to realize that nothing will help if you don't have an efficient platform. Here are 10 AdWords gimmicks that will help you tread these uncharted waters with authority:

Keyword research - AdWords cost you, and thus you cannot fall into its cocoon without doing avid research about which keywords get you best business. Go through rigorous trial and errors, check your competitors and also, if possible, lend services from surveyors on the efficacy of typical keywords.

Negative keywords - Often, startups fall for a spate of negative keywords that you bid for, but that doesn't return the favors. Learn to filter out these negative keywords by first recognizing them. With time, you will do your own math.

Planning - You have to plan out your eventual reach, the areas you need covered and the range of proactive AdWords bidding you require for particular demography and age bar. That depends on what you provide; product or services; physical or mental. Always think ahead and don't restrict yourself to small profits.

Smart landing pages - When visitors come rolling after PPC campaign puts you over SERP organic listings, they have to be impressed by your landing pages. It is preferable to concentrate on separate keyword bidding for separate landing pages, using a granulated keyword structure. This way, you cover a gamut of keywords.

CTR evaluation - Your goal has to be to lower the Click-through rates. The more sharp and crisp your content is, your CTR will have less job to do. Keep navigation effective, coding sprightly and keep updating your site with modern changes.

Ad content - When you prepare your ads to pull o the visitor's nape, the content has to be accurate and explanatory. He should know what's on offer looking at the ads. You have to create ad groups quite clinically, inserting quality content.

Geo-tagging - Pork sites would not do much business in Middle East. If you are providing software services, it won't help in counties rich in rural stretches. It is highly important to do intelligent geo-tagging; otherwise AdWords will fall flat on your face.

Calculating bids - It is your money on the cradle, so rock it with diligence. You have to be sharply accurate while calculating bids and when to lower or increase bids. Don't go overboard with costs, but in the same vein, don't keep a measly budget for AdWords.

Initiate promotional offers - To instantly turn visitors into clients, you have to impress them with your service. Keep freebies like e-books o the move. Also be exact on what new you are providing and why should they stick to you! AdWords will only give you the initial thrust.

Follow truants - Some people may show interest, but all they are interested in is window-shopping. Customize your banners and utilize Double-click facilities to keep filling them with product details and effective ads a long time after they came your way first. This strategy eventually succeeds in most cases.

Rise into the higher echelons with these AdWords strategies.

Mini-Series: "How To Start Making Money From Your Website" 2: Tools and Services

In the last article, we covered ways to make money via Advertising. In conjunction to this, there are tools and services out there that you can utilize to make money from your website.

Tools:

Tools can mean anything from a plug-in, widget or add-on to a website that you can use to make money from. One of the simplest tools is Widgets. They are one of the latest trends on the web that let you monetize your website.

Examples include Widgetbucks and SmartLinks. Some of these services operate under a Cost-Per-Cick scheme, others behave like text link ads, others yet leverage affiliate links.

Their main differentiator, however, is the fact that they work as web widgets, making it easier for the user to plug and play the service on its website.

Services:

These are generally things you can do for other people that you can charge for. There are some laborious tasks such as proof-reading and administrative things that people don't want to do and are happy to pay you for. 2 great ties are fiverr.com and fourrer.com. They are websites that allow you to list services you are prepared to do for a cost. At fiverr.com you can charge $5 for every service and at fourrer.com you can charge $4.

If you have a particular skill or are knowledgeable about things... possibly even just very willing, then sponsored reviews may be a great avenue for you to take. It does exactly what it says on the tin, people pay you to review them.

PayPerPost pioneered this model, with much controversy on the beginning (related to the fact that they did not require disclosure on paid posts). Soon other companies followed, most notably Sponsored Reviews and ReviewMe, refining the process and expanding the paid blogging model.

Joining one of these sponsored reviews marketplaces will give you the opportunity to write sponsored posts on a wide range of topics. Not all bloggers are willing to get paid to write about a specific product or website (because it might compromise the editorial credibility), but the ones who do are making good money out of it.

If your blog has a big audience you could also offer sponsored reviews directly, cutting off the commissions of the middleman.

RSS Feeds:

These are great as they offer real-time updates to your subscribers. With the quick adoption of the RSS technology by millions of Internet users, website owners are starting to find ways to monetize this new content distribution channel.

Feedburner already has its own publisher network, and you can sign-up to start displaying CPM based advertising on your feed footer. Bidvertiser recently introduced a RSS feed ad option as well, with a PPC scheme.

Sponsorship of a column or an event:

If you website has specific columns or events (e.g., a weekly podcast, an interview series, a monthly survey, a special project) you could find companies to sponsor them individually.

This method increases the monetization options for website owner, while giving advertisers the possibility to target a more specific audience and with a reduced commitment.

Mashable illustrates the case well. They have several advertising options on the site, including the possibility to sponsor specific columns and articles, including the "Daily Poll" and the "Web 2.0 Invites."

Problogger also runs grou- writing projects occasionally, and before proceeding, he publicly announces the project asking for sponsors.

Premium Content:

Some websites and blogs give away part of their content for free, and charge for access to the premium content and exclusive tools.

SEOMoz is a good example. They have a very popular blog that gives advice and information on wide range of SEO related topics. On top of that visitors can decide to become premium members. It costs $48 monthly and it grants them access to guides, tools and other exclusive material.

There are some useful services and tools available to you now to add to your site to start making money from it. Coupled with advertising from volume 1 of this series, you can start to make money quickly.

Check back soon for part 3.

The Advantages of PPC Advertising

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising can dramatically enhance the traffic to your website. It also increases the number of qualified visitors. It's nevertheless important to realize that the potential advantages of PPC advertising can only be derived when a proper PPC advertising campaign is undertaken. Inappropriate management and poor planning could lead to accruing costs sans any revenue.

Hiring a PPC advertising professional can fetch you the following benefits.

Instant results

Such advertising is quick to set up and the money spent often translates to clicks on your website. This means that such advertising delivers instantaneous results, unlike the more common SEO campaigns. While SEO campaigns would produce more high quality visitors, it could take years for deriving the fullest benefit. If there's an immediate need to generate online revenue, besides having a business model that supports cost-effective PPC advertising, then such a campaign must be a key component in your internet marketing strategy.

Pay only for the performance

PPC advertising costs are directly relates to the volume of traffic your website witnesses and not the number of times your advertisement is shown. Such a model also enables advertisements to be shown only in some geographical area or on those websites that have related content. The results are targeted and high quality traffic to your website. This, in turn, leads to a high conversion of visitors to buyers. This type of advertising, thus, is an effective way of promoting goods and services. However, pay-per-impression advertising is more appropriate of you're trying to build brand awareness of some new product.

Total control over campaigns and costs

PPC advertisers allow fixing an upper limit of your costs on pay-per-click as well as the total daily spends. This means, you spend only as per your needs. Such an ability to fix and adhere to a strict campaign budget, coupled with the instantaneous results, means that you're able to monitor the outcome of your campaign in real time. Advertisements that perform poorly can be identified and revised. Your budget can hence be adjusted. Such a complete control over the advertising campaign enables you to respond to the problems and optimize the performance regularly. SEO campaigns, on the other hand, takes a lot of time for achieving results. In an SEO campaign you've to spend almost all your budget before you can witness any visible results. You don't even get any indication whether the SEO campaign has been successful or not.

Learn How PPC Can Lead to Better SEO!

The goal of any advertising campaign, regardless of what methods are used, is to get more visitors to a website and keep them there for a certain amount of time, hopefully resulting in a purchase. There are many different methods that can be used for a page to be noticed by search engines - SEO being one of them. Pay Per Click, or PPC, is another method for improving indexing results. This is an internet marketing method that only requires payment when the ad itself is actually clicked, as opposed to paying for one that simply appears before a potential customer's eyes. Each of these methods work differently in gaining more visibility for a website and combined can work even better.

Paid Exposure

Many people falsely believe that SEO and PPC are one in the same and there is no good reason to pay for any advertising if it can be avoided. While there is a bit of truth in this, there is actually a lot more benefit to pay for this kind of exposure than not. The way this works within Google's search engine is that paid advertising appears along with the free, general organic rankings; however, it is highlighted to attract more attention and appears at the top of a results page in a box, completely bypassing organic rankings.

Without PPC exposure, a page or website could rank dead last in its category; by paying, a business jumps to the top of a rankings page. While this can be very beneficial, there are a few things that must be taken into consideration with regards to PPC, SEO and page rank.

Increases Publicity

Since PPC costs money which is dependent upon the type of advertising campaign desired, most businesses do not stay with this type of advertising indefinitely. The best way to use this type of publicity is to attract visitors, generate backlinks and gain visibility with social media. By building publicity with paid ads and tracking the results with website and search analysis tools, it is possible to choose better keywords for more accurate SEO once the PPC ceases. So PPC can be an invaluable although costly tool; however, the beauty is that it appears on a results page but costs nothing until someone actually clicks on the link.

Keyword Testing

Using PPC also enables specific keywords to be tested to test the results. Keywords still play a role in PPC, of course, but are less critical when the link is at the top of a rankings page no matter whether the keywords are good or simply mediocre. If poorly chosen and not effective, then using PPC will not get results either.

Other Uses

Other important uses for PPC include when fast page ranking is desired due to seasonal or temporary promotions, testing of internet marketing campaigns, and even managing negative feedback that may show up. Using Pay Per Click allows for a page to have higher visibility to combat negative feedback with positive comments as both affect a company's public impression.

It should be noticeable that used in conjunction with each other, PPC and SEO can be great partners in establishing a new website in search rankings as quickly as possible. When properly managed, Pay Per Click advertising can have a spot in an internet marketing campaign and may increase the speed at which a site can rank well organically. Since well-managed, natural ranking is generally more permanent, its inclusion is something to be considered by any business as part of any SEO effort!

The Advantages Of Using Pay Per Click

Looking for answers using search engines has always been a major part of the online experience. Actually, the likes of Google and Bing bring traffic to most websites because they are always used by visitors in searching for the things that they need. Due to this, business owners have been looking at internet marketing or building up the positioning of their websites so that people will click on their sites to see what they have to offer.

This can often be completed with search engine optimisation. However, this process can takes a long time and is not an exact science. To get visitors right now, pay per click (PPC) advertising is becoming the trend to attract customers to your sites.

How Does Pay Per Click Marketing Work?

Pay per click marketing is a way of advertising where the advertiser pays the search engines whenever their advertisement is clicked. The advertisements can also be posted on different websites and every time a customer clicks on the link, the search engine will again be paid. The advertiser will use keywords in order for the ads to be more relevant and therefore more attractive to prospective customers. Right now, the well known names in this area are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Google's pay per click program is known as Google AdWords.

It is up to the advertisers whether they want to pay a high amount for each click which can affect where and how frequently the ad will appear on search results and websites. As well as depending on other factors, users who pay more will get to display their ads more often and their ads will be prioritized over companies who pay a lesser amount. The price also varies depending on the keyword that you select.

Advertisers may choose where they want to show their advertisements. They may request it to be placed in a location where the ad will most likely be attractive to customers. The duration for how long the ad will be displayed can also be varied. Essentially, most decisions are dependent on the advertiser and how much they are willing to pay. Most advertisers are able to find an arrangement that is right and appropriate for their needs. At this point in time, PPC is becoming a handy tool in an internet marketer's tactics not only because of its high chances of success but also because of its practicality. This means of advertisement is not as expensive as other types because the advertiser only pays when visitors hit the ads.

Effective Internet Marketing Is Possible On A Low Budget

Most new Internet marketers struggle learning how to advertise their websites, products, or affiliate links without spending a small fortune. One of the areas in which a lot of mistakes are often made is with PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. And if you are a beginner, you probably are making some serious mistakes that will cost you money with this form of marketing. However, successful Internet marketing is possible with just a few great techniques to reduce the cost of your PPC campaigns.

Learning and developing the skill of good keyword research will ultimately determine your level of success with online marketing. PPC ads are actually keyword-targeted campaigns; therefore keywords can be extremely effective or drain your pockets. Many Internet marketing programs express that building large lists of general keywords will generate more traffic. Although short, general keywords often have high levels of search volume, they are the most common reason a good campaign fails in global Internet marketing. Keywords with high search volumes are generally the most expensive keywords to bid on, resulting in higher per-click costs. General keywords most often will not convert into leads, sales or quality traffic, because they are too broad in scope. In short, general keywords that generate hundreds or even thousands of non-targeted non-buyers are never as valuable as one highly-targeted potential customer.

Many times new marketers are afraid to remove general, closely related keywords for fear of losing the additional traffic to their website. More likely than not, these keywords will not result in higher conversions and cost a lot more per click. The solution? Effective PPC Internet marketing is feasible by using long-tail keywords in highly targeted ad campaigns.

Long-tail keywords are terms that are made up of four or more words directly related to your product or service. For example, if you're running a global internet marketing campaign selling an e-book that teaches people how to train their dog, you will find terms like "dog training", "canine training", and "puppy training". These terms and similar terms like them are the most over-used keywords and therefore, the most costly. By using keyword programs or sites like Google Keyword Tool, you will find long-tail keywords consisting of four or more words like "canine obedience training commands", "dog training hand signals chart", and "dog training tricks and tips". Although these terms have far fewer search results, they will be much more highly-targeted to what your potential buyer was searching for. By building a large number of ads specifically targeted with long-tail keywords, you will attract a substantial number of clicks. The greatest advantage is that long-tail keywords cost a great deal less than the more general, high volume keywords.

From your list of long-tail keywords you will need to build very specific ad campaigns around these terms. It is important not to group all of your keywords into one ad group. Instead build separate ad groups for each long-tail keyword and only add additional keywords that have the same root keyword phrase like "dog training hand signals" and "dog training hand signals chart". Remember, if your potential buyers are searching for apples, you don't want your ad to try to sell them bananas.

By following these simple tips you are going to have more successful PPC campaigns while lowering your marketing costs at the same time. Effective Internet marketing is possible with the proper techniques and will ultimately improve the quality of your traffic.

Create a Tsunami of Revenue Streams to Your Website Using Affiliate PPC

Billions of people now use the internet. It's a medium that is accessible 24/7 - 365 days per year and has completely changed the way we work and the way we earn our income.

It is widely known that the Internet is an incredible resource for many income-generating activities. Whether your interest is professional sales or part-time internet marketing, one of the most powerful and easiest methods of income generation is a PPC (or Pay Per Click) affiliate program.

A joint venture with a Pay Per Click affiliate merchant is a win-win situation for both parties.

Currently, sales are booming for developers of good products, programs and systems due to the volumes of traffic being driven by affiliates and the affiliates are being paid handsomely from the generous commission levels paid by the developer.

In simple terms, the affiliate merchant provides an advertising banner or link to place on your website and pays you when someone clicks on the link. You can get a commission of anything from $0.10 to several dollars for every click depending on your merchant sales program.

Once set up with regular traffic flowing you can relax a little while your website is generating clicks and creating an income. It doesn't really matter if the prospect ends up buying the product or not as you as the affiliate still gets paid for the click through.

So to summarize?

PPC means pay-per-click, whereby you partner with an affiliate company that literally pays you for every click on their product link. There are really three types of PCC affiliate programs - those who pay a commission based on the number of clicks, those that pay on leads and the other based on actual sales. (It's arguable that payments for clicks and leads are the same thing but often a lead will later convert to a sale and merchants will often also pay you a percentage of that sale as well)

The pay-per-click scheme is by far the most popular medium as the chances of a visitor purchasing something from the affiliate merchant are affected by matters completely out of your control.

So how do you get involved?

You need to have a website within the same niche as the advert you are going to promote, and a ready flow of traffic helps. For example, if your website is about cameras or photography then you can search for affiliate programs that sell products related to photography or how to edit photographs.

You can create a content site about absolutely anything you like such as ' Dog Training' or 'Diy Around the Home.' As long as your affiliate promotion is within your web site niche then your visitors are going to be curious and more likely click on your adverts.

How do I maximise my click through rate?

Your website needs to have a quality look about it and designed in such a way that users will find it easy to navigate. Consider how the advert looks and feels. If it doesn't look professional users will simply be put off and go elsewhere. Place the ad in an obvious and direct position where users can see it clearly. Visibility of the ad is critical.

Generate interest by post links to your website on web communities, in forums or bulletin boards plus write e-zine articles. This obviously requires some effort on your part but it can generate a lot of organic traffic that will keep visiting your website.

Once set up it's like automating your business. All you have to do after that is general top ups and maintenance.

Lastly, be sure to track your site activity so you can see where your efforts are producing the greatest return

If you think you can take your efforts up a notch, you can try a two-tier affiliate program and recruit other marketers to sell for you.

As well as the money and sales generated from your website's clicks, you will also get a percentage of what your affiliates earn. It's entirely possible to earn 50% to 75% on referral sales.

However, you need to be able to manage and monitor your affiliate team as they will quickly stop selling for you if you can't pay them in a timely fashion. Fortunately a lot of vendors have systems in place to handle two tear affiliates, but if not there are good programs that you can purchase.

If you can recruit more affiliates, then you can double, triple, quadruple your sales or more without very much extra effort.

If you choose affiliates that already have traffic generating sites then naturally this is going to speed up your earning potential. Carrying out some straight forward research on Alexa.com will help to identify some useful contacts.

Getting More Clicks by Incorporating Benefits Into Your Ad Copy

With Facebook PPC, it's all about the click.

Unless you're buying ads just to generate brand awareness, your main objective in your ad is to capture people's attention, and get them to click.

This month, one of the things we're focusing on are features vs. benefits in your ad campaigns.

To briefly recap:

Features are facts about your product.

Benefits are how the features impact or help the user.

But since this is an article about Facebook advertising, you're not just here for a marketing lesson. How do we take this important marketing concept and specifically use it in our Facebook PPC campaigns?

Using Benefits In Your Ad Copy

I can't tell you how many times I see ads that talk about how great someone's product is, how their company has won awards, how their service is the best.

Who cares?!

How does it impact me? Why should I care about what you're offering? How am I going to feel if I buy it?

When you're writing your ad copy, think about what would make YOU likely to click on the ad. Would you click on an ad that listed 5 facts about a product? How about a bullet-point list of all the different makes and models they offer? Probably not (unless the very fact that they carry certain makes and models is in itself somehow extraordinary).

Focus on the end results of what the buyer will get out of your product. Just don't forget to deliver!

I'm not saying you should never include features in your ad copy. People definitely want and need to know what it is you're offering. But go light on features, heavy on benefits.

I would usually recommend talking benefits FIRST, features SECOND. Grab their attention, and then you can tell them exactly what you're offering.

Using Benefits on Your Landing Page

Obviously, given the 135 character limit for FB Ads copy (not including headline), you have to be really choosy about what you include.

On your landing page, though, whether it's your FB page or your website, you have free reign over how much content you present.

I'd again encourage you to make your benefits clear and compelling, and use them near the top of your page. People need to know exactly what they're getting, but get them at an emotional level first.

Once you have a captive audience, it's time to present all the great and wonderful things your product can do.

In his 12-Step Foolproof Sales Letter Formula, David Frey talks about seven universal motivations that spur people to respond (i.e. Buy/click/get). If you're having trouble thinking about what problem your product solves, take a look at this list and ask yourself which motivation it addresses:

1. To be wealthy

2. To be good looking

3. To be healthy

4. To be popular

5. To have security

6. To achieve inner peace

7. To have free time

8. To have fun

Every product you could possibly imagine promoting on Facebook has benefits. It's up to you to figure out what they are, and then make sure you use them to grab people's attention (and click!).

Essential Elements of Your Facebook Ad Copy: Clear Objective

Do you have a PLAN?

Over the next couple of weeks, I thought it would be helpful to tackle ad copy head on - to really dig in and talk in detail about what makes good PPC ad copy.

Once you've been in the Facebook ad world for a while, this stuff becomes second nature. But if you're just starting out, having a step-by-step tutorial can take most of the guesswork out your writing (saving you a lot of time and energy!)

So in this post, we're going to start at the very beginning with the key question you need to ask yourself BEFORE you even put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, I guess):

What is the objective of your Facebook ad?

Many marketers will just jump in and start writing their ads; 5 minutes start to finish, without any forethought to this question. And that's a huge mistake!

To figure out what your objective is, ask yourself these questions:

What exactly do you hope to get out of your ad?

If you could have only ONE outcome from this ad, what would it be?

What's your MAIN reason for running this ad?

Let's break it down even more with the following questions:

What do you want them to do?

Do you want people to opt-in to your mailing list?

Do you want them to buy something?

Do you want them to become a fan?

Do you simply want them to SEE your ad (brand recognition?) [Hint: Unless you're a big brand with lots of money to spare, I generally wouldn't recommend this one!]

Where do you want them to go?

Do you want them to stay on Facebook or go to an external link?

To your fan page? (if so, make sure you have a solid online sales funnel... do you have a plan in place for turning your fans into customers?)

To a squeeze page? (a page specifically designed to collect email addresses)

To a sales page? [Hint: Offer Paypal as a payment option! The ease and familiarity of Paypal often = higher conversions]

What do you want them to do there?

Sign up for a webinar?

Download a free info product in exchange for their email?

Click on an affiliate link?

Buy your product?

Become a fan?

As you can see, these aren't difficult questions. And chances are you already address some of these unconsciously when you write your Facebook ad copy.

But next time you sit down to write your ad copy, take an extra 5 minutes BEFORE you start writing and take a run through these questions.

You'd be surprised what a difference it can make!

Google AdWords - Can It Generate Inbound Phone Leads For Service Businesses?

Google's advertising system for businesses started in 2000 after the success of its search engine. Google AdWords is one of the best way to generate inbound phone leads and customers for your business.

The goal of this article is to explain why Google AdWords works really well for local service businesses and what you need to do to begin generating leads. On a daily basis millions of people use Google to look up information on just about anything you can imagine, which includes information about your product or service.

It's really important to understand that people in local geographical areas use the search engine to find local service providers. It doesn't matter if you are a lawyer, doctor plumber, roofer or any kind of service business. There is a searcher at this very moment typing in a specific group of keywords related to your business.

Google AdWords are the little ads that appear on the right hand side of the search results when someone does a search. They work extremely well in terms of turning into inbound phone leads for your business because they are always RELEVANT to the persons group of search keywords.

So lets say someone types in "emergency dentist in Colorado springs", the ads that show up on the right side of Google are targeted to be the most relevant possible! Ideally if you were a dentist that does emergency work in Colorado springs, you definitely want to own one of those ads that shows up because there is not a better prospect for your dental practice out there!

There are a few things to keep in mind when setting up an AdWords campaign. The first is that relevancy is extremely important to Google so the ads you create should match the group of words that someone types into the search engines.

If you are not relevant enough Google does penalize your ad which means you end up paying more for your marketing. Some of the other requirements to pay less for your advertising would be to give your prospect a good user experience. Believe it or not its all about "user experience" for Google and they can tell if your ad is giving its visitors a good user experience.

You might wonder how?

Well Google in particular measures to see how long a visitor stays on your website after they are referred over by the ad on the search engine. The longer the visitor stays on your site after clicking on the Google ad, the better experience they must be having because they visited your site for a longer time!

Google rewards you for this and in turn you pay less for your advertising which means more of a Return-on-Investment for you.

Facebook Advertising for Small Business Owners

Facebook Advertising Introduction

In today's post we are going to discuss Facebook PPC advertising and give some tips and tricks of the trade for small business owners. Facebook pay per click allows you to target a selected area so if you are a small business owner with a shop, you can cast a net to only the areas you serviced. This will help narrow down your targeting and ensure quality leads. Facebook pay per click works on a bidding system. The cost you pay per click you receive depends on your bid, the niche, and the quality of your ad and the website you are advertising. Having quality content is a must, remember when you are writing your content to write to users, and not to the computer.

Writing your Facebook Ad

Facebook allows two options, if you have a Facebook page for your business, you can advertise the page directly, or you can advertise a website directly. Depending on what you are trying to grow, but for our purposes we will focus on advertising a Facebook page because I think they are a little simpler. Listed below are the options we want to set in order to advertise a Facebook page.

Make sure you have a headline that POPS! Your headline is probably the most important part of your ad, the picture being the second. Having good Ad Copy is a must when it comes to writing ads. Remember you are competing with other business owners in your area who also want customers. You have to be aggressive.

Targeting customers on Facebook

When you own a shop, advertising is going to be a little different when using pay per click. The big advantage is as that you can target a specific area as I stated before. If you are a business with a shop and a website that sells products, then you can advertise to places outside of your area if you wish. This is a great way to explore and find new customers. If your business does not operate in a certain area then different rules apply.

First lets discuss users with a brick and mortar shop. Users who operate in a specific location would benefit best by targeting people in a certain radius of their business. I suggest you make a list of how your going to target your customers. I am going to use a pet shop as an example business. A pet shop in York PA with no website, would start their targeting list by targeting the York PA Area and/or a couple surround counties. Next thing on Facebook we want to take a look at the age and gender. Depending on your product, these options will be set differently. For our pet shop purposes we are going to Focus on men and women who are between the ages of 30-50. Next category is going to be specific interest. Since we are a pet shop, lets target #Animal Planet.. Try to be creative when your targeting. Facebook also offers a Broad Category area where you can be more specific on your targeting options. Below is a sample of what our targeting would look like.

Conclusion

As you can see from the image above, Facebook will give you suggestions. These are a great way in finding hidden nuggets. Remember when your advertising you have to create multiple ads. We want to see which ad performs the best, then we fine tune that ad and pump it up. Pump up that ads budget and watch your customers roll in. Remember this is only one way to use Facebook Advertising. Facebook also has a new marketing technique where if you have more then 400 page likes, you can market your website using Facebook Marketing. Take your time and make sure your targeting is precise, and you will increase your visitors and customers every time.

PPC Campaigns - The Mistakes to Avoid

The internet has become a widespread phenomenon nowadays and it comes in handy for everything. Whether it's for research, buying and selling, communication or even for marketing, the internet is always the best option to turn towards. Businesses have also discovered the many benefits of the internet and have found that it is a great marketing tool. Because a lot of people all across the world have access to the internet, there isn't a better way to reach out to them and promote your business.

Marketing yourself online is now referred to as e-marketing. There are various ways in which businesses can use e-marketing to their advantage. Amongst many e-marketing techniques, PPC (pay per click) is everyone's favorite. PPC gives out its results faster in comparison to other marketing techniques. This is perhaps the main reason why PPC is preferred to other e-marketing techniques.

Because PPC is so common, some people are a little too eager to use it, while forgetting the basics about the campaign. In order to optimize a PPC campaign, it's essential to keep in mind the basics and avoid some common mistakes. Once you invest in a campaign, you obviously want a good outcome from it. If you avoid the below mention mistakes, there is a good chance that your PPC campaign will turn out to be successful.

When you are using this e-marketing technique, you will need to make use of keywords to draw traffic to your website. Your keywords need to be set appropriately and should match all the possibilities of keywords that the consumers (your target market) will search for. It's important to have relevant keywords. By choosing the most relevant keyword, you are highly likely to draw more traffic to your website. The common mistake that some companies make is that their keywords aren't competent in terms of relevancy. Due to this, people are often unable to visit their website because they don't show up in the search engines search results.

Secondly, when you start a campaign, you need to be thoroughly involved with the campaign yourself. Familiarize yourself with the campaign and, if you've hired a specialist to work on your campaign, make sure you participate in the decisions made regarding the campaign. The campaign should be very important to you because it can either make or break your reputation over the internet. Paid services might not be so focused on making your campaign successful as they would be on getting paid. It's necessary that you play your part in ensuring that everything is going in favor of your business.

Don't just select pay per click campaigns because you've heard of it through someone, or because everyone else is doing it. You need to choose a marketing technique that will be suitable for your business. Do your research and look up the different marketing techniques that are being used online. It could be possible that there is a marketing technique that will be better suited for your business as opposed to having a PPC campaign operating online.
